About me the writer:

Debora Vecchio was born in 1974. She is an English teacher. She got a degree in foreigners languages and literatures at University of Pavia ( English and German Language) and a Master Ditals degree to teach Italian language to foreigners: adults and children. She attended an English course in Bologna to teach English to children. After that  she opened in Imperia an English laboratory for children from 3 to 8 years old.  In recent years she held various experiences working with children helping them with English and Italian homework as well. All these work exper iences helped her to develop passion and experience in teaching professionally. In these years, teaching English and Italian languages to children she had a great opportunity of knowing their world and their difficulties learning new languages. So, she decided to write a bilingual book for them, through a fantastic and a  kind story : The tale of Mafalda and Spider.  Her big dream came true: teaching new languages to children (both English and Italian) playing, coloring, singing and having fun with them.

Debora Vecchio nasce nel 1974. E 'un insegnante di inglese. E’ laureata in lingue e letterature straniere presso l'Università di Pavia (lingua inglese e tedesca) ed ha un Master Ditals per insegnare la lingua italiana a stranieri: adulti e bambini. Ha frequentato un corso di inglese a Bologna per insegnare l'inglese ai bambini. Dopo di che ha aperto a Imperia un laboratorio inglese per bambini dai 3 agli 8 anni. Negli ultimi anni ha ricoperto varie esperienze di lavoro con i bambini aiutandoli con compiti in inglese ed in italiano. Tutte queste esperienze lavorative l'hanno aiutata a sviluppare passione ed esperienza nell'insegnamento professionale. In questi anni, insegnando l’inglese e l’ italiano ai  bambini ha avuto una grande opportunità di conoscere il loro mondo e le loro difficoltà nell’imparare nuove lingue. Così, ha deciso di scrivere un libro bilingue per loro, attraverso una bella e fantastica storia: La storia di Mafalda e Piper. Il suo grande sogno si è avverato: insegnare nuove lingue ai  bambini (inglese e italiano) giocando , colorando , cantando e divertendosi con loro.

About Karen the drawer:

 

Karen M was born in 1963 in U.S.A in a beautiful and magic place......in California. She is a great and fantastic drawer.  She is American but also Italian because her mum was Italian. She still lives in the USA but sometimes she comes to Italy to visit our fantastic place. Karen has a great passion from when she was a child; to draw. She is a very talent person, she creates every kind of scholastic books, maps, info-visual  etc. Many people from all over the world ask her to realize their projects; she also has a website to publish her activity.  She knew Debora some years ago because she would like to improve her  Italian language. After their Italian lessons,  they always finished talking in English more than one hour! In these years they talked a lot! Slowly slowly was born a very honest and strong friendship. One day Deby showed Karen a fable for kids. She was surprised for that and she laughed a lot because it was a beautiful and funny story. So she had a great idea.....to publish this story. She knew that fable needs drawing and she realized all of them. She is a fantastic, precise and extraordinary drawer. Karen and Deby are a great team. They realized their dream and project: work together! Even though she lives in California and Deby in Italy she created their first but not last book thanks to technology!
